Peanut plants are one of the food crops that play an important role as a national food source in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of various doses and application times of the herbicide 2,4 D-Dimethyl amine to control weeds in peanut plants (Arachis hypogaea L.). This research used a Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAKF) which consisted of 2 (two) factors. The first factor is the herbicide application dose of 2.4 D with treatment levels including 1 l/ha (D1), 1.5 L/ha (D2), and 2 L/ha (D3). The second factor includes application time, including 21 days after planting (W1), 28 HST (W2), and 35 HST (W3). The results of the research showed that there were 14 broadleaf weeds and 3 grass species growing among the long bean plants. The dose and application time of the herbicide 2,4 D-dimethyl amine can control weeds after 8 weeks after application. Herbicide application does not affect the growth and yield of peanut plants. Of all the weed species identified, grass class weeds are the species that are difficult to control using the herbicide 2,4 D-dimethyl amine.
