Siram Bung (Sprinkler, Hydraulic Ram, dan Embung): Optimalisasi Pemanfaatan Air pada Tumpangsari Jagung dan Kacang Hijau di Pulau Alor
Abstract
Alor Island, East Nusa Tenggara is a area which had dryland agriculture potential. In 2015, total dryland area which had potential for agriculture were 260.134 ha. Drylang productivity increase in Alor Island are needed for land use optimalization, poverty eradication, and also fulfill people food and nutritional needs. However, potential evapotranspiration value in Alor exceeded yearly rain precipitation. It was indicated that Alor had lack of water supply. “Siram Bung” was a system that combines embung water harvesting, hydraulic ram, and sprinkler irrigation system. Agriculture commodity that used for “Siram Bung” system were maize and green beans. Those commodities would be planted with intercropping system. Based on water supply and spatial analysis, This concept enable cultivation 1-2 times a year when water supply surplus occured in January-April, February-May, March-June, April-July, September-December, Oktober-January, November-February, or Desember-March crop period.
