Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of swamp land, water
management and inundation in the form of existing conditions in the Pemulutan
Ilir, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The method used is descriptive
collection, direct measurement and observation in the field with relevant agencies
and farmers. The results of the study showed that the Pemulutan Ilir Village was
located in the middle of the valley with a period of inundation for 3 to 6 months
and the height of inundation reached more than 50 to 100 cm. The agricultural
system is Field Storage Receptacle with an index of planting once a year (IP100),
planting period in May and harvest in July. During August to October planting
activities are not carried out because of the dry season. In November until the
following April, there was rain which was high enough to cause flooding. Planting
activities are very dependent on hydro topographic conditions, rainfall and river
water level. Soil biophysical analysis was in the texture fraction with different
smoothness levels, the analysis of the soil permeability at the Pemulutan Ilir was
very low, less soil porosity of 50% of soil volume and value soil pH of 5,27 is
acidic including the criteria.
