Potential and Problems of Water Resources to Support Sustainability Kota Terpadu Mandiri (KTM) Telang

Abstract

The purpose of this study to identify potential and problems of water resources as
one of the support systems for the KTM Telang sustainability. This research was
carried out in the KTM Telang, where is a village that grows and develops as a
center of collection, processing, distribution and services of the Transmigrant.
This research was conducted for 3 months from January-March 2019. The method
used are survey and observation using primary and secondary data. The river is a
water resources that is very important for the KTM Telang community. The river
also the main infrastructure in water transportation traffic. Problems related to the
management and utilization of water resources include the quality of polluted
water, flooding, drought and siltation. Therefore both the community and
government must be coordinate in formulating policies and strategies to
maintenance and improvement of river functions to support the sustainability of
KTM Telang as new integrated growth city.
