Abstract
Kurniawan H. 2021. The Potentian greenhouse gases reduction by determining WFO and WFH policies. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-9 Tahun 2021, Palembang 20 Oktober 2021. pp. 640-647. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).
The Covid-19 pandemic affects many economic sectors, therefore; to reduce its spread, the government issued policies to limit social scale, one of which was the policy of implementation of Work From Office (WFO) and Work From Home (WFH). PLN (the State Electricity Company) is one of the government-owned agencies that implement the policy. The study aimed to find out the potential for reducing the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the PLN office during the policy implementation of the Work From Office (WFO) & Work From Home (WFH) during August 2021. This research was conducted through questionnaires, interviews, direct observation, documentation and literature review. The results of the study showed that there has been a decrease in the greenhouse gas emissions at the PLN office since the stipulation of the policy of Work From Office (WFO) & Work From Home (WFH). The potential for reducing the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission for correspondent mobilization by 40%, 10% reduction for power consumption and 8% reduction for vehicle mobilization. The reduction the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission for the female gender was greater 20% than that of the male gender. In conclusion, the policy stipulation of Work From Office (WFO) and Work From Home (WFH) within PLN succeeded in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and contributing to climate change mitigation efforts.
