Pengembangan Pola Tanam Tanaman Pangan dengan Introduksi Teknologi Kalender Tanam (KATAM) Terpadu

Widya Sari Murni, Hendri Purnama

Abstract

Murni WS, Purnama H. 2020. Development of food cropping patterns with the introduction  of integrated cropping calender (KATAM) technology. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).

The KATAM is a technology recommendation and the need for agricultural production facilities based on accurate rainfall patterns and climate forecasts in an effort to increase food production and self-sufficiency in Indonesia. The development of food crop cropping patterns based on accurate climate and rainfall data can answer problems in increasing the production of food crops, especially rice, corn and soybeans. Development of cropping patterns for food crops is one of the crop cultivation systems that can be developed by optimally utilizing resources to avoid the risk of failure. This activity was carried out from January 2017 to January 2018 in Teluk Pandak village, Tanah Sepenggal District, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province by planting three times on one land, namely peanuts (MK) - upland rice (MH 1) - upland rice (MH 2). The purpose of this activity is to apply a food crop cropping pattern in accordance with the integrated KATAM and to develop a food crop cropping pattern according to site-specific conditions. The results of this activity show that the integrated catam technology that is applied is able to develop the existing cropping pattern at the farmer level from the cropping pattern of palawija - fallow - rice to secondary crops - rice - rice, which in the second cropping pattern during the MK period (dry season), the farmers' lands were not originally planted, with the introduction of this integrated catam technology it can be planted with rice and production in the second and third cropping patterns increases.
