Abstract

This paper aims to explain what caused the displacement of the Palembang zuriat from Ternate to Bacan? What is their current condition, and what are their expectations? The results of field research indicate that the displacement was because they wanted to find a new life, apart from the shadow of Dutch colonial control, married to a local woman. When they generally live as fishermen, laborers and a little as employees with economic levels that are less so good. What about their character as Palembang people? It turns out that they generally can not speak Palembang, do not know and use the tradition of Palembang, even they have not used again greeting "yai-nyai" to call grandparents, and other saapan that characterize Palembang. Nevertheless, it turns out they still leave "sambal Palembang", "dabu-dabu Palembang". Also comes “duku” and “kamplang” that is laid out is derived from Palembang, which brought by their luluhur to it. Hope is to visit Palembang as their ancestral land, the existence of associations that can unite them there, and move or change the condition of Palembang's grave cemetery from the current condition that is always hit by flood.
